Reporting into the Executive Editor, Sky Sports News this role is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and growth of the channel with a specific emphasis on programme output and content. Ensure that the team adheres to the editorial objectives, policies, priorities and style of the channel and work closely with Directors and Graphics to improve the look of channel and innovations.

Reporting into the Executive Editor of Sky Sports News, this role is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and growth of the channel in conjunction with a specific emphasis on news gathering via the news and planning desks. In addition responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating newsgathering across all Sky Sports News platforms which includes TV, Radio, iPad, Mobile & Web.

Following a period of on the job training, you will be expected to oversee the entire production following a running order devised by the producer. You will be interacting with all the production, operational and technical staff involved in Sky Sports News and coordinate their efforts to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

Sub-editors are the journalists at the core of our production teams. They research stories; plan coverage; write scripts and on-screen text; cut pictures; commission graphics; produce reporter packages; liaise with our outside broadcasts and much more. We’re after someone with great TV writing skills and a keen eye for picture to go with their excellent sports knowledge.

The Sport team works with Sky Sports to articulate Sky’s contribution to grassroots sport in the UK and encourage participation, using the power of sport to help make positive change in people’s lives
