Christopher DeHaney is Head of Sports Sponsorship across Trinity Mirror Plc, one of the largest media owners in the UK.
Christopher has over 15 years experience in media and marketing communications. His current role as Head of Sports Sponsorship sees him generating creative marketing solutions for many of his clients, projects which include the Olympic legacy and bespoke grass roots campaigns.
On a daily basis theUK’s biggest brands will call Christopher for his advice and ask for ways to spend their advertising budgets. The likes of Renault, Vauxhall, Unilever and P&G are always looking for ways to sell more products or promote new launches through the portfolio of brands Christopher works on, including the The Daily Mirror, The Sunday Mirror, The People, The Daily Record and over 130 regional papers and 500 websites.
A typical solution would entail creating events, magazines, TV programmes, bespoke websites, road shows…..whatever solution best communicates the client’s objectives.
Sports marketing is continuously changing as marketers seek new solutions to reach their audience in the most efficient manner. What particularly interests Christopher is how sport can be used to make a difference within communities across theUK.
He is has recently created a mentoring project that aims to recruit 16-24 years to build a sports newspaper and website to cover the Olympics alongside Mirror journalist, designers and photographers.
