Janet Daby was elected as the Labour Member of Parliament for Lewisham East on 14 June 2018. Janet has been a Labour Local Councillor in Lewisham East since 2010, and in 2012 was promoted to the Mayor’s Cabinet for community safety. She was appointed Lewisham’s Deputy Mayor immediately before being elected.
Janet is a Founding Director of The Whitefoot and Downham Community Food Plus Project, an organisation which combats food poverty and isolation, helps over 50 local people each week, and which received a national award in recognition for its work. Janet lives in the London Borough of Lewisham with her husband and two young children.
