Vicky Sandry is General Counsel, Sky UK & ROI, heading up a large in-house legal department that provides legal expertise to all areas of Sky’s UK and Irish businesses..
After studying Law with French at Birmingham University, she qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and joined Sky in 2000. She has held a number of roles at Sky, taking up the role of General Counsel – UK and ROI, in July 2016. Vicky has worked part time since 2004 to enable her to balance her work, family and career. She works 3.5 days a week, which enables her to spend time with her family (she has two sons aged 12 and 15) as well as find time to keep fit and learn the guitar!
In 2013 she was included on the 2nd Power Part Time List, which recognises 50 men and women who work part time at the top of their profession, and in 2018 she was recognised for her modern leadership by being included in The Lawyer’s “Hot 100”. She is an advocate for the benefits of flexible working in all its forms, and a strong supporter of the need for a diverse and inclusive workplace She regularly mentors and coaches others and seeks to demonstrate that it is possible to work part time in a challenging role and continue to progress your career.
