Karen Campbell is the MD of Shiloh PR and online editor of UK radio station KISS FM. You will hear about her story and how to successfully use social media to grow your personal or business brand in the seminar ‘How to use social media to boost your career and to win new business’ on Saturday 29th June at Birkbeck, University of London.
Karen began her career working in NHS PR, handling accounts for various heath authorities in the Midlands, whilst juggling her passion for music by writing music and event reviews in her spare time.
Karen has always had an interest in music, which led to her to spending 6 years producing radio shows at BBC Radio 1Xtra before going on to produce online content for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra for a further 3 years. This involved managing the network homepages, generating social media output and leading on digital content for a number of events including 1Xtra Live, Radio 1 at The BRITS and lots more.
She also currently runs her own PR Agency, Shiloh PR (www.shilohpr.com), focusing on publicity for music events and helping brands to reach ethnic communities in the UK through public relations.
In addition, she gets to continue to exploit her interest in social media as she works full time as the Online Editor at Kiss FM, where much of her role is focused on developing the brand’s social media strategy and encouraging online interaction with audiences.
