Camilla has been involved in both law and local politics for many years.
Camilla was called to the Bar in 1998 by the Honourable Society of Grays Inn, she then completed her LLM and after pupillage began teaching law, firstly at UCL, then Kingston and now at Westminster University.
Camilla recently set up aCa School of Law offering academic support to International Law students, where she found a particular need for both academic guidance and English for Legal Purposes support, be it with their oral or written legal discourse. Camilla also offer’s help with careers and insight into the profession, all in the particular view of opening doors for aspiring pupil barristers.
Camilla stood for the Conservative Party in the local elections last year but lost by 200 to the Liberal Democrats. She is committed to working within BME communities and have found both the legal and political background to be particularly conducive in doing so. She is also a committed member of the Society of Conservative Lawyers.
Camilla is very proactive within the British Nigerian Lawyers Forum (BNLF).
With regards to her future plans, she hopes to begin studying for a PhD next year in the field of Human Rights – as she believes this will help her further strengthen the support she can offer to women.
