Tipped by Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates as one of his favourite new artists and spending two weeks as a featured artist on Channel AKA as their ‘music of the week’ as a rapper, producer, singer / song writer and actor Bobii Lewis is one of the UK’s most exciting up, limitless and coming talents.
Mixing vocals and rap Bobii officially hitting the scene in January 2011 with the release of The Invasion Mixtape he has already had performances across the UK at live events including The Sunday Show, Flavour Mag Live, Something For Sundays, Sunday Night Live and The Cosy Show, Ronnie Scott’s to name a few.
With a second mixtape “The Mashup EP Mixtape” receiving 370,000 You Tube views, Bobii has since been interviewed on numerous radio stations including BBC Radio 1Xtra‘s ‘CJ Beats Soundcheck Show’, Reprezents Radio, ChoiceFM’s ‘DJ Woody Show’, and BangFM’s ‘DJ Policy Show’. UK national newspapers and magazines, respected online press and blogs include The Sun, Grime Daily, NME, SBTV, Link Up TV and Entertainment Focus.
With performances at Rising Tide 1xtra Introducing Acoustic Sessions, Bigga Fish at XOYO and The O2 under his belt, the latter supporting Rick Ross, 2012 has been Bobii’s biggest year yet. He recently took part in the Youth Vote Campaign with Ashley Walters, Owen Jones, Michelle de Swarte, Jon Snow, Dan Schrieber, Miss Baby Sol, Alesha Dixon and Rizzle Kicks, performing alongside the likes of Sway and Princess Nyah at the event.
With more features to drop from some the UK’s hottest emerging artists, Bobii is now ready to step out on his own with a track simply titled “GRENADE”.
“GRENADE” is produced by Calvin Kooley Puckett and Kelby Clarke who between them have produced, mixed & Engineered for artists such as Lil Wayne, Pretty Ricky, Pit Bull, Baby Bash, Yung Joc, Jamie Foxx, R. Kelly, Ray J, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Jim Johnson, Jason DeRulo and P Diddy.
The single has resonated with Bobii’s recent role in a short film set to premiere at BAFTA in October 2012. The film directed by in-demand, rising video director Quason Matthews also features ‘Hackney Heroine’ Pauline Pearce and Darragh Mortell (The Jungle Book).
