#THRIVETalks – Flipping the Narrative

Please join THRIVE Hachette for a unique opportunity to hear Patrice Lawrence, Dean Atta and Sareeta Domingo in conversation with Sharmaine Lovegrove on our stunning Hachette rooftop.

The three DYNAMIC authors will be be sharing details of their journey into the publishing world as black commercial fiction writers, and hope to empower innovative thought, discussion and solutions on increasing representation in commercial fiction genres.

The panel includes:

  • Patrice Lawrence, author of Orangeboy and Indigo Donut. Her debut book for Hachette Children’s, Orangeboy won the Waterstone’s Book Prize for Older Readers and the YA Book Prize.
  • Dean Atta, author of the poetry collection I Am Nobody’s Nigger which was shortlisted for Polari First Book Prize. Dean will be publishing a young adult novel, The Black Famingo with Hodder Children’s Books in 2019.
  • Sareeta Domingo is a writer and self-decribed hopeful-but-realistic romantic. Her debut full length novel The Nearness of You was published in 2016 by Piatkus, an imprint of Little, Brown Book Group.
  • Sharmaine Lovegrove, publisher of Dialogue Books and co-chair of Hachette’s Changing the Story.

Please arrive from 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start. The event will finish at 8:45pm.

Drinks and Nibbles will be provided.
