BBC Community music grant 2012
From hip hop to samba, classical to jazz, the Community Music scheme aims to help not for profit community music groups the length and breadth of the UK to carry out training, attract new audiences, encourage new members and raise their profile in their community.
Community groups looking to apply for a grant as part of the scheme can either apply for up to £5,000 for a development project (Option 1) OR up to £10,000 for a project that includes the commission of a new piece of music (Option 2). However, the average grant awarded will probably be less than the maximum allowed under each option.
They are looking for applications from groups working across all ages and all genres. They want to encourage groups to take on more challenging projects and to collaborate with professional artists and other local organisations.
