Gemma Miller is a Stylist and Owner/Creative Director of Girl Like Me, an online store and fashion boutique, based in South London. Gemma has worked in fashion retail for 4 years turning her dream into her passion.

She threw herself heart and soul into manifesting her dreams, and in 2011, after carefully sourcing suppliers and researching her market, she began to sell jewellery at Vauxhall Nine Elm’s Sunday Market. As a testament to her keen eye for fashion and passion for her business, the launch went so well that she was able, a month later, to introduce clothes and accessories. She began to branch out, selling at other markets, including Kempton Park and Croydon Surrey Street.

Divorced, single mother to one, Gemma finally took the plunge, and opened her first boutique, with the constant support and encouragement of her mother and two aunts, opening her first boutique 21st April 2012.

Gemma has exhibited at various venues including African Fashion Week and Afro Hair & Beauty. This year is the fourth year that she will be exhibiting at the world renowned Clothes Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham.

In June 2014, Gemma was approached by a prime time TV show (Mary Portas:Secret Shopper) asking if she would like to participate in their reality series. As a result of participating in the TV show, the boutique was completely revamped and the name was changed to Girl Like Me.

Changing her dreams and chasing new ones has left Gemma with no regrets. Through adversity comes success, if you’re willing to work hard enough.
