omegrown soulful talent Josh Osho gears up to release his second single ‘Giants’ featuring Childish Gambino on 8th October 2012 through Island Records, taken from his acclaimed debut album ‘L.I.F.E’.

Josh Osho has had a great start to 2012. After an incredible performance on Jools Holland, Josh went on to deliver a faultless live lounge session for Radio 1 and 1xtra live from Hackney to great applause. A sold out Jazz Cafe gig soon followed to coincide with the release of his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ as well as a number of high-profile TV syncs including ITV’s Euro 2012 coverage and BP’s official Olympics advert who used his debut single ‘Redemption Days’ that featured Ghostface Killah.  Undoutedbly Josh is going from strength to strength and has picked up some notable fans along the way in some of music’s finest. Both James Morrison and Wretch 32 have earmarked Josh as an exceptional talent to watch out for. Other heavyweight Osho promoters include Emile Sande and Rizzle Kicks who invited Josh on the road with them for their UK tours while Tom Jones personally requested Josh to perform with him on stage at his recent Hammersmith Apollo show.

Dubbed “the UK’s answer to John Legend”, South Londoner Josh Osho is a naturally gifted singer-songwriter with a life-story packed full of the stuff that films are made of. Born to a half Northern Irish, half Nigerian mother and Nigerian father, Josh Osho, has not only experienced more than your average 21 year old, but more than many people may do in a lifetime. Following an unconventional and often tempestuous childhood, Josh went from being in and out of home at the age of 16 and dealing drugs from notorious half-way house Ebenezer hotel at 17, to signing a record deal at 18, and finding himself recording in a studio with two members of the Wu Tang Clan at 19. It may be a universal cliché to say someone has been saved from a darker route in life by music, but when it comes to Josh Osho this really is the case.

Among those to hear it first was record company co-president and A&R man Darcus Beese (Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, Rizzle Kicks) – who signed Josh to Island records – and the legendary Ghostface Killah – who approached Josh about guesting on his debut EP, ‘Redemption Days’. A few sessions in the studio later and Ghostface’s counterpart RZA quickly followed suit, stepping up to mix a number of tracks on Josh’s recently released debut album, ‘L.I.F.E’.

‘Giants’ is the second single lifted from ‘L.I.F.E’ and features hip-hop talent Childish Gambino. An infectious and heartfelt slice of gritty inner city soul, the uplifting track showcases Josh’s uniquely soulful voice at its best and safely solidifies him as one of this year’s promising new talents.
