Yet it has also spawned divisions between wearers of relaxed hair vs. natural and has led to a debate among over what it means to be natural. \nSome natural hair advocates believe that natural hair refers to texture\, not colour or length\, and as long as the chemical structure of the hair is unaltered\, it can be considered natural. Prior to this position\, Peter joins from Royal Bank of Scotland\, where he was most recently the Chief Operations Officer for the Corporate and Institutional Banking business in APAC based in Singapore\, including running Operations\, Technology and Corporate Services for the region. \nSandra Federighi\, CFO – Stella McCartney \nTom Ilube\, CEO – Crossword Security and No. 1 in the Powerlist 2017 \nTom Ilube is a technology entrepreneur and educational philanthropist.  He is founder and CEO of cyber security company\, Crossword Cybersecurity plc.  Previously\, Tom served as Chief Information Officer of Egg plc\, the pioneering FTSE 250 UK internet bank. His career has included Goldman Sachs\, PwC\, Cap Gemini and the London Stock Exchange.  Tom is Chair of Governors of ADA College\, the UK’s National College for Digital Skills. He is Chair of the African Gifted Foundation and in 2016 launched the African Science Academy\, the first girls science and technology school on the continent. \nTom was named as the most influential person of African and Caribbean heritage in the Powerlist 2017. \nKaren Blackett OBE\, Chair and former CEO of Mediacom\, NED and listed in the Powerlist 2017  \nKaren has been in media for 22 years and is currently Chairwoman of MediaCom\, the largest media agency in the UK with billings over £1 billion. Prior to this Karen was CEO for 5 years. \nKaren has been instrumental not only in the success of MediaCom\, but in championing diversity throughout the advertising and media industry. In 2012 Karen launched the first ever Government backed Apprentice Scheme for the sector\, where the apprentices qualify for an NVQ in Marketing and Communications. \nIn June 2014\, Karen received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours and in 2015 Karen was the first business woman to be named Britain’s Most Influential Black person in the Power List. \nChi-chi Nwanoku\, Founder\, Artistic & Executive Director Chineke!\, Principal double bassist\, Prof Royal Academy of Music\, Broadcaster\, Writer & Mentor \nChi-chi is the Founder\, Artistic and Executive Director of the Chineke! Foundation\, which supports\, inspires and encourages Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) classical musicians working in the UK and Europe.  Chi-chi is a founder member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and held the position of Principal double bass there for 30 years. She is Professor of Double Bass Historical Studies at the Royal Academy of Music\, where she was made a Fellow in 1998. \nChi-chi’s range of musical interests have resulted in a broad career performing and recording in a diversity of styles from authentic baroque through to 21st century and new commissions\, with many of Europe’s leading chamber orchestras and ensembles. Some of her notable chamber recordings include Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet (recorded three times)\, and Octet\, Beethoven Septet\, Hummel Piano quintet and Boccherini Sonatas. Her solo recording of Dittersdorf and Vanhal Concertos with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra; Hyperion CD 67179 received critical acclaim. \nModerator:  Melanie Eusebe\, Founder of the British Black List\, Presenter and Speaker \nStarting her career working at the branch of a local bank while completing her degree in Philosophy\, Melanie is now a Management Consultant/Strategist in personal and business development\, with over 18 years experience working for global brands including IBM and Ernst & Young\, specialising in business transformation\, and working with companies to identify strategic priorities for revenue generation and profitable growth. Developed go-to-market strategy focused on customer segmentation\, endorsements\, and strategic partners. Developed investor relations and pitch investors for opportunities. Clients include Google\, River Island\, H&M\, Vita Coco and Motorola. \nArieta Mujay – Head of PR and Communications at Boohoo.com \nArieta Mujay is a London based fashion creative that has been working in fashion at various capacities for 15 years across the UK and Africa. Starting out as a window dresser for GAP which allowed her access to seeing how looks are pulled together as worldwide GAP is applauded or their fabulous and consistent windows\, while working as a window dresser for GAP in Brighton she started to get involved in styling. \nShe then moved on to fashion PR and worked as press officer for New look on the UK high street but still styled part time\, Arieta rose to the position of PR Manager before leaving the company for another High street Brand River Island where her duties included running the PR Department\, being the fashion Editor of the River Island In store Magazine as well as shoot director and stylist for some of the online e-commerce content. As head of PR UK for River Island\, Arieta worked closely on the Rihanna for River Island collaboration and was part of the 777 tour. She also worked with the British Fashion Council to bring the collection to be shown at the SS13/AW13 shows. \nIn 2013\, Arieta launched African creative collective a PR and brand consultancy with the sole aim of nurturing African creative talent in the UK and as an advisor to brand and retailers who are interested in activations across the continent. \nArieta is a reviewer and contributor for Cosmopolitan Magazine’s online platform\, a mentor to young businesses and an avid supporter of female empowerment.  Arieta has always been sought after and is now heading up PR and Communications at boohoo.com. \nAde Hassan – CEO of Nubian Skin \nA nude bra and skin tone hosiery are the basics of every woman’s wardrobe\, at least in theory. She also advises on large international filing strategies and has experience in domain name dispute resolution proceedings.\nShe has experience working in a wide range of sectors including Cleantech\, consumer products\, food & beverage\, computer software\, mechanical & structural engineering and retail. \nShe has an LLB from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an LLM from the University of Cambridge. \nJacqueline joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2011.
